Just got back from our first below zero soak!   Not too windy, it was a great time.

I'm so jealous... Before I found this site (a week or so ago) I was going to have the hottub installed in May. Now, its going in the first week that the snow has melts. Hopefully mid-Feb.

Enjoy it for all of us who are still anxiuosly waiting ;)

I set a record for myself last night. Got in when it was -7. Had the temp at 103 degrees. I was more than fine sitting all the way down in the water. When I sat on the cool down seat my hair froze solid within a minute. I could even feel my nose hairs freezing instantly as I breathed in the steam off the water.  It was crazy but fun!

Diet coke tastes great chilled to -7. It was almost like I was drinking a slushy, lol!

I can't set a record...my spa cover is frozen solid to the top of the tub... :(I am afraid to pull too hard on it) Not sure why it is frozen to the top  :-/

We may break the record tonight.  Supposed to get to -4, it was -11 when I got up this morning.

it's -1 right now. Might have to go in before it gets too freaking cold. I did not like the wind whipping across the frozen tundra and onto my bare skin!

14 degrees tonight in not-so-Hot'lanta -- we were out earlier and will go out again before bed.  To transplanted yankees spoiled by 9 years in GA, the 10 feet from the door to the tub bites.  :'(

We are lucky, our backyard has a lot of windbreaks.  Its not immune to wind, but considerably sheltered and a short 5 feet to the tub.

I had a very lovely 20 minutes in -3 deg weather (it dropped a bit). The tub is under our deck, but exposed to the lake. The winds are usually up a bit, but that feels good. It still feels good in -3. Last night in -15 or so it was NOT that nice.  Having a hot tub is most definitely making Michigan winters much better than before!

I just got out of my morning soak.  ;D I have been away the last couple of days while the cold air was  settleing in on the Poconos. I thought I would miss my chance to soak in negative temps. My prvious record was 5F. Got home last night but was too tired to soak. Woke up this morning to -9F and no wind. By far this is the coldest I have soaked in. So peacfull watching the sun rise, no noise and only steam coming up from my tub and cup of coffee.

The holes in the floor of the ice house allow the 32 degree above 0 temperature of the ice keep the fish house 63 deg. warmer than the outside air.
