Title: Hotspring Vista - Pictures of Yard Remodel
Post by: Ultrarunner on December 19, 2008, 03:10:19 pm
I feel compelled to post on this forum as I have been a "silent reader" for many months.  We purchased our Hotspring Vista about 6 months ago and we are extremely happy with our purchase.  We just went through a major remodel of the area surrounding our house and the most exciting aspect of the remodel (for me) was the new deck and hottub.  (My wife was more into the landscaping, too banal for me but I must say I like the palm trees by the hottub!).  I will post some pictures when I figure out how to do so.

Anyway, now that everything is finished, I would like to provide some details on the Vista model.  I chose the Vista because I wanted a large hottub with a lounge.  We have three young children and there is more than enough room for 5 people.  I use the hottub the most.  We live in So. Cal. and the temperature at night lately has dropped down to a bone-chilling 48 degrees (he said facetiously), it definitely feels better when it is cold.  I also play soccer and run a lot and there's nothing better than lounging in the Vista with the moto-massage jets soothing tired muscles!  I know some people do not like lounges but I have very little body fat and I sink right to the bottom in the lounge seat.  I also like the lounge seat for the foot jets.

My wife works 12 hour shifts as an RN and she loves to use the main foot jets.  I have to say they are very therapeutic for sore feet.  I've developed a routine for switching seats when I am in there alone.  I start with the lounge seat and then switch the jets over to the back massage for two other seats that are across from each other.  By the time I am done, I have traversed all available seats and used every combination of jets!  When my brother came over for a soak recently, he couldn't believe the way I had developed my soaking routine...takes a bit of learning!

I have not noticed any unreasonable jump in our utility bill, probably $20 more/month.  Maintaining the cleanliness and clarity of the water has been easy and everyone loves the changing color lights.

Anyway, just want to contribute some opinion on my purchase.  I would definitely recommend the Vista..and for sure get the cover lifter!

Thanks for all the contributions and interesting topics.

Ultrarunner.

Congrats on your purchase.  Welcome to the family of happy Hot Spring owners.  The Vista is a great spa.

To post pictures, you need to upload them to Photobucket.  Then you can insert them with the little postcard looking thing on the posting page.  Not too hard.

Finally figured out how to post pictures.  Hope you like our new setup...it was a long time coming!  We've lived in the house since 1997 and we never got to enjoy the yard much until we made the upgrades this year.

Here's what the area looked like before we tore down the old deck and after the deck removal....

What a difference from the before and after pictures. You're wife has great landscaping talent. It now makes it a place where you want to hang out and enjoy. Great job!

Chas...I always had the cover lifter but I couldn't install it as the correct cover had to be ordered after delivery.  It took a while for it to arrive and I learned during that time how nice it is to have a lifter!  Here are some recent pictures...

Very nice. I also started out without a lifter. It sure makes you appreciate the lifter once it's installed.

HenryK...I got the fireplace from Costco.com

It's a natural gas fireplace and we love it.  I assembled it myself and it was very easy.

Take care,

Ultrarunner. :)

ps: the fire isn't as close to the house as the pics seem to show
optical illusion....flames are not even close to house.

Very nice Zep.  That's a nice setup you have there.  Nothing better than kicking back with friends and family next to the fire.  My kids always ask me to light the fire when are outdoors...I love watching them make "smores" too!

Regards,

Ultra. ;D
