I like the looks, the lights, and I like the jet combo. But I must add that the latter is based on my experience with Caldera tubs - I really like being able to go from straight to spin jet with the flick of a finger, and they seem to be overpowered which is something our customers ask for a lot.
Having said that, I must quickly add that I have yet to wet test one. I have all three models on the floor, and one is wired and ready to fill, but I have not installed a cover lift yet, so I have not filled it.
Chris, what are your likes/dislikes on the LL spas?

Me encanta vender en contra de ella, es básico y, sin embargo, no de precio para competir! ;)

i love to sell against it, it is basic, however, not a competitive price.
Hmm.
I have set the prices below cost. I hope to make it up on volume....

Antiquis temporibus, nati tibi similes in rupibus ventosissimis exponebantur ad necem! ;)
Chas, to answer thy questions:
Liketh: Lights, seating, shell colors, price, saleability
Disliketh: Bypass filtration
It has been a wonderful comparison tool to help me sell more HotSpring Spas.
Gotta go...busy day today! Take care...

Es debilem vinculum, vale! ;D
Actually it was a great move for Hot Spring to make the LL spas too many companies are not doing what it takes! I am not complaining though.

Term, have you wet tested one yet? I bet the Pulse with two 2.5 HP pumps puts out a good massage. Is the jet pressure stronger compared to the typical HS models?
What's the marketing/selling advantage to go away from the no bypass method? Does it help with jet pressure or is there another reason?

As a consumer, it's a lot cheaper and easier to clean one filter than it is the four found on the no bypass setup. I’m not sure if it’s true, but I was told there is only bypass with the jets running, not with the 24 hour circulation pump. No bypass sounds great in theory, but I’m not sure it’s worth the extra cost or hassle. I would like to see a comparison study between the two. I just don’t see the no bypass setup out performing that much more.

I have had both types of filtration systems running side-by-side for twenty years on my showroom floor. Far harder to keep a tub clean there - opened more, lots and lots of hand lotion in the water on a busy day, kids, etc. Next to the HotSpring were tubs from other brands, then Tiger River, Caldera, Hot Spot, Solana, to name just a few.
Without a single exception, it has always been easier to keep the HotSpring tubs cleaner and clearer. So much so that you could pretty much walk into my showroom at the end of the day on a Saturday or a real busy Friday and tell which tubs were which just by looking at the water in them.
However, unless you have them side-by-side as I and other dealers do, you would not notice the difference, and I only think it should be a deal breaker if you are planning some huge amount of use for the tub. Or perhaps if you live in a high-dust or high-wind environment or some other special need. Having owned bypass tubs at the store and in my yard, I can vouch for the fact that with simple care and a little thought, they can also be very functional in the home.

I think they need to work on limelights website. Launching a PDF for each tub is not a website.

They have launched the new web site. Perhaps you need to refresh.

Duh, sorry about that.

Wow, one day and it’s that bad. :o I’ve never had a viable water/sum line, even after heavy long term use. Well, maybe back in the Baqa days... ::)

Ok, try this: have ten families come to your house. Have each family have at least one kid, maybe more. Have every single member of those families not just put their hands into your tub, but have them reach deep to get their hands in front of lower jets, upper jets, and middle jets. Have them pause in front of the MotoMassage or whatever your best jet is on your tub. Then have the kids play some little game of "sink the duck," or "splash my brother" around the tub while the adults go over the pricing and so forth.
I hope you realize I am talking about the tubs in my showroom, and I specified a busy day. Dealers will tell you: it is far more work to keep a spa nice in a busy showroom than it is in a backyard.

So I should cancel the ten families I had lined up - and tell them that dinner and a soak at your place is off? ;)

Good website, gives me a dealer without having to enter my personal information. I might take a look at these soon. I'm low on chemicals, and I got my last chems from the Sundance and Royal.

Put me on that list, thats one feature I like of my Dynasty

Yes sir, I've been in the Glow and the Flair. Both of them are very comfortable. We had a couple of Pulse's at our Tyler store, but sold them.

I wouldn't say stronger, just a lot more jets. I still prefer the Envoy over all the spas, but the new Grandee is really, really nice.

The HotSpring exclusive 100% no-bypass filtration cleans faster and more thoroughly and keeps crap out of the pumps, heater, plumbing. The trade-off is that you are limited to a finite number of jets. I present all customers both sides of the story and they choose to have all of their water filtered all of the time about 10 to 1.
Hope this answers your querstions! :D

Doggonit, I want one of those 100% no-bypass filters now.>:( 10 to 1 is a big difference, is it even worth selling the bypass spa?
-
If no by-pass filtration is so great why doesn't anyone else do it? I find that odd, is it patented? Even if it was there would be ways around it.
Personally I don't think it keeps water any clearer than most , we had 3 spas running at the fair for 10 days without an issue, and there were a lot of hands and a couple of people in there as well. Same with the Sundance dealer 15 feet away. We sold 22 Sundance sold 14 HS sold 5 from a very reliable source. The 3 spas I have running on the floor right now I hit with a bit of dichlor about once a month just because. This with hands and wet test included.
Would I like to have it in a Jacuzzi, probably its a nice story, but all I sell to are not that impressed with it, in fact most that have been to the HS store tell me that's all the salesman dwells on, and to them its as if that's all the Hotspring spa has to offer which in someways I agree.
Filtration is in the eye of the beholder.

I have a little fabric cloth over my bypass inlet. Does that count as no-bypass filtration? :)
Seriously though, is it true the circulation pump does not bypass the filter on Watkins bypass spas?
-

Circulation pumps have no bypass no matter what brand spa it is; the circ pump is tied to one single filter solely.
The no-bypass on Hot Springs is on the main jet pumps where each pump is tied to two filters. In all other spas each pump is tied both to a single filter and to a bypass valve that can draw water from the footwell.
Terminator has a scientific diagram to illustrate this.

Let me make sure I understand this correctly. If I never turn my main pump on, I have one of the fancy exclusive 100% no-bypass filtration systems too! 8-)
Ok, back on topic. I like the new website and the new Limelight spas look cool. I would think Watkins would sell a ton of them, but it sounds like the focus is still on the HS models.

After a quick viewing, I would put the Pulse on my short list to wet test if I was buying right now.
