I finally found a clock/thermometer combo that I really like for outside. I want to hang it so that we can see the temperature from the pool and hot tub. So that limits me to one wall and it is stucco. I won't drill through the stucco...don't want water to get under it and cause it to crack. Has anyone found a creative idea for hanging something like this without drilling into the stucco? I was even thinking of hanging it from the soffit somehow, but not sure if it would work. :-/

How heavy are they?
Where I work they hang various artists paintings/pictures on commercial picture hangers.
If the soffit is wood - maybe a "T" of 1x2's screwed into the soffit and hanging down with the clock and thermometer hanging from it. If you paint it the color of the soffit and wall it should almost blend in. Or have it come from the ground if possible.
They sell those 3M hangers, the ones that you pull down to remove - don't know how well they would stick outside or on stucco.
I'll keep thinking though.

Try your local hardware store where they stock glues and adhesives. Although, with this kind of product, it could damage the stucco if you ever want to remove it later, so be careful. It may not be too bad on your vinyl or aluminum soffit. Some of the adhesives and "sticky" pads can heat up in direct sun light, thus losing their ability to hold weight. So, watch out for that.
If you did decide to drill a hole into the stucco, you could fill the hole with caulk. Then, before the caulk dries, insert the screw and caulk around the screw a little more. This might help prevent any water from getting into the hole and behind the stucco. Though I completely understand your hestiation to put holes into your wall.
Don't know what kind of ground cover you have around the pool and spa, but could you "drive" something into the ground...4x4 post, galvanized pipe, PVC pipe, etc. Hang the clock on this and utilize it for other things too. Such as, hooks or rods stuck to it to hang towels on or perhaps wind chimes...whatever comes to mind.

Thanks for the ideas guys, I went to the Home Depot and found my solution...
Here is the clock/thermometer just where I wanted it...No holes in the stucco and I 'm happy with the results..can you see how I did it?

There's a string hanging down from the soffit??

;D ;D ;D ;D

Chad is right. I was able to squeeze a screw up in one of the little ridges of the soffit. Home Depot has this clear string..supposed to be able to hold 50 lbs..it worked really well because you have to walk right up to the wall to see it. ;)..Now I have something new to add to my velcro, hot glue, duct tape collection ;D

Wow, I couldn't tell!! :D It is a nice clock/thermometer. Did they have them with frogs?? :)
-
No frogs...this was a left over from a sale at Boscov's. I looked all summer for one with a large clock and small thermometer. So you like frogs? I will have to share some of my friend's pictures with you.. ;)

I LOVE frogs!! Kiss enough of them and you find your prince, like I did!! :-*
We were biking Saturday, and there were a whole mess of frogs in some standing water along the trail. They were so CUTE!! I have a frog that has found it's way to my little fish pond. I am hoping he sets up home and finds a cute frog-mate. I'll have to take some pix...

All this time I thought you were askin' us about hangin' a GLOCK.

Sorry to get off topic, but there is a large frog living under the steps for my spa. :)

Probably not a frog (unless he is soaking in your tub too)..but a toad. That's a good thing, he will eat bugs around your tub ;)
This is Mr Peepers...a spring Peeper that I rescued in March from my patio door..

Ahh, it’s a toad. I know one thing, It sh!ts more than my dog. I was not too happy cleaning up after it.:( I thought about bringing it inside, not now.
-
Don't bring him in..he is doing just what he is supposed to do out there under your tub. All that stuff that you are cleaning up is the remains of tons of bugs that could be pestering you as you soak in your tub..
Ha..I love my Marquis spa frog. ;)..and you love your spa toad. ;D..you do right?

My little frog is still sitting around my pond. I don't think I have had too many mosquitos bite me since...
I'd clean up frog/toad poop over West Nile virus anyday!!

Great now I had to go and buy a clock off EBay so I could hang my own clock....

Did you get a thermometer too? I love the configuration of mine..the large clock and the small thermometer.

This is what I have coming to a hot tub near me.

It has time, temp, and humidity. It is also atomic so I never need to set the time.

Wow that looks nice. I just picked up a bargain..maybe I should have shopped on line too. :-/ Mine is made of that composit stuff that will (maybe) last a couple of years.
You know it doesn't make me happy to see a MAN get a better deal than I did ;D
-
Is this now a requirement for owning a hot tub? :-?
They never told me about all of these extra costs...
I knew about
Hot Tub
Pad to install it on
Electrical
Chemicals
but now a Rubber Duck and a Clock? :o
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

You will start to notice that we share ideas and all of a sudden something that never occurred to one of us becomes a have to have thing.
I have been looking for this clock thermometer for a while. I found several but not exactly what I wanted. I only bought this one because it was on sale ;)
I have a clock on my tub panel, but that doesn't help when you are in the pool ;D...
The rubber duck..is a must however :)

I was only kidding around! I do like the picture of the one Scott showed.
We noticed this last night when the kids were in the hot tub with us and we wanted them to go to bed. We were trying to find out what time it was in order to say "Oh, it's 10 o'clock! time for bed" of course with a couple of teenagers that doesn't really work. ;)
I'll get the duck today! :)

I soak at 5:30AM in the morning before I go to work. Sometimes I lose track of time and run a little late for work. So the clock will help me get out of the tub before I spend too much time in it. The tub turns off after 20 minutes but sometimes I want just a few more minutes and before you know it 40 minutes has gone by. We are in the Monsoon season right now and some days we are having 29% humidity. I paid $19.99 for the clock and the Copper colored ring is metal not plastic. I also have Atomic clocks in the house and they are great, especially when they go to daylight savings automatically.
