I just spent the last 2.5 hours selling a gentleman a HS Sovereign. He is an engineer, had done his research, asked pertinent questions, and was a pleasure to deal with. I love customers like that!
During the course of our conversation, he mentioned that when he went to one of the competitor's stores, there was a young girl behind the desk. She never acknowledged his presence, so he walked around looking at the dozen spas they had on display. Finally, he went up to the counter and said "I'd like to talk to somebody about spas."
Her reply was "Oh, ummmm...I don't really know anything about those. I do swimming pools. You'll have to talk to......ummmm...let me get his card........James! He does spas."
"Well, where is James?"
"He is out doing service. I don't think he'll be back today."
"OK. Thank you."
How does THAT work? That's just plain damn weird.

I think it would be one of the reasons your company is able to sell so many spa's!! Good for you guys. Wish I had competition like that.

Was this your neighborhood Bullfrog dealer, if so I'm depressed. Sounds like another dealer in a bit of trouble with their sales staff doubling as their tech and only staff member with knowledge of spas.

No sir, the Bullfrog folks do OK. They have had their "Spa Sale" sign up for over 5 years now, though. :D
When is a 'sale' no longer a 'sale'? :-?
I agree Jim...I am in a very fortunate sales climate. The drawback is that a couple of the organizations around here inflict a huge black eye on the industry as a whole.

Hey don"t be a ? I re-read what I wrote and revised it. But believe it or not company's like that would help you sell more of anything!!

Its nice to have terrible salesman or companies to compete against but all in all your right Term it hurts the local industry or the industry as a whole. I would just assume that they get it over with and go out of business. We have two local dealers that have no clue what they are doing. They just as well be selling vacuum cleaners.

It just gets weidered today...sold a v=vistsa to a car salesman! I'm closing early and taking the family out for dinner.

That is what they call a pool store where the owner decided "what the heck, we've got some extra room, lets put a couple spas in here as well and maybe we'll sell a few of those too".
