My new cover from Doc's Place (http://www.rhtubs.com/store/insulate.htm) has arrived and is installed and, boy, is it a beaut! Since Doc will make accomodations for custom modifications, I specified that two of the straps on one side be 24" long while the others were the standard 8" long. This is to allow the cover to be opened without having to unclip the back clips. My cover lifter is much like the CoverMate II seen here (http://www.rhtubs.com/store/cover.htm). The extra length on the straps works perfectly and makes securing the cover very easy.
Muchos gracios, senor Doc!

Windy,
Having two of the cover clips always attached may also help in the event of another hurricane ;)

Actually, Canman, I've got a couple of HEAVY DUTY 2" wide straps that I use for hurricanes and now will make sure to put on should a strong storm front come through. This new setup should take care of everyday winds and hopefully those storms that pop up without warning.
