I know every store has its own theme based on the owner, the town state etc.....
But the music in the store can really take part in how it feels in your store.
So i ask, What kind of music do you play in your store(s)?
ours is generally classic rock by the pool tables, then atmosphere music in our front gazebo with the SpadioCast, and oldies in the middle or country... depending on the time of year.

One of our salesman brought in a michael buble' CD that everyone loves. We also do a lot of the Eagles.

I am obviously not a dealer, but I think when looking at spas I think the customer should be allowed to choose what music if they are testing a spa with a stereo.
That way, the customer can really hear what the stereo would sound like playing the music they would listen to. :)

We usually have ours tuned into the "House of Hair" with Dee Snyder.

Smart way of thinking, Chrisi.
See, for me, I've had 35 years of Eagles music in the background. It would bore me. Michael Bubble would make me cringe.
Yet, I'd never let on to my salesperson just how ineffectual his/her music choice was.
Ask me what I wanted to hear? I have an Ipod with 5000+ songs (Eagles yes, Michael Bubble noooooooo). I'll find something I like.
By asking what I like, a very subtle message is conveyed . The message is that my wants and needs are important and that I am being listened to.

I have a wide variety of tastes, including jazz, rap and definately ROCK. Definately Blues, as well. THe best approach to a salesperson would be "May I please play with the stereo?"
Just like when you go to best buy--.... BTW--Eagles, good. Buble', gag.
Chrisi, of House of Hair fame (teeheehee) ;D

Michael Buble would seal the deal for my wife and I. I listen to him sing I'm coming home anytime I need to get re-energized....
-
I know someone posted about Andrea Bocelli. I could actually listent to him, but can't without crying. As my mother lay dying at home on hospice, that was always playing in the background, since she liked to hear him. :'( :'( :'( :'(
The harder, faster music gets me energized!!
But I like some different music, I like old Pat Matheny Group. Had seen them in concert. I would love to go to a Blues festival. I like some old jazz, like Dave Brubeck and Weather Report. Crazy!! 8-)
Chrisi :) :)

Assuming your talking about on the showroom floor, I don't care as long as its not too loud or offensive. I have hearing problems and I don't need interference with trying to communicate wiht my wife or the salesperson. Some music nice so I don't have to hear the conversation of the other couple shopping, or their sales person.

Here at our store we can only pick up 2 radio stations. Either Country Classics or All 80's. There is just so much I can take of either one. ;D
That is why I am so glad that we have the I Cast on our demo so we can use an Ipod - we only have about 200 songs on it so far but it's enough to get thru an 8 hr day.

Rock, Blues, never country...During test soaks or when the sauna's are being tried out, we'll tell them to bring whatever music they like. If they leave it to me I'll play something mellow like Sara Bareilles or Holly Brook. I personally love to listen to Holly Brook when I'm in the sauna and a little known blues/rocker named Beth Hart when I'm in the spas. We're listening to Seether right now (my coworking is younger than me)
