Title: So whats new around here
Post by: Jacuzzi Jim on March 20, 2008, 12:50:10 pm
Seems pretty stagnant!   I have had a great month, done a couple of home shows, glad they are over!

Sales have picked up, most spas sold are in the 5 to 9 range, a few 07 models left.   Waiting on more 08s to arrive, weather is starting to get better, first day of spring nice but only 40* Summer around the corner!

Any other dealers care to chime in on how sales are going across the country?

Things are getting weird around here....

I have gone from 256 lbs at our dealer conference in January down to 238 as of this morning.  My torn MCL is healing.  We had a ternado come through town night before last, but it was barely an F-1.  It's going to be up around 80 today and I've got a new Limelight Flair Hot Tub that I'll post some pics of in a little bit.

It's kinda slow around here, but it always is this time of the year.  I'm staying busy working on our brand new website.  It's gonna be pretty slick by the time it's done!

I'm beginning to wonder if many of the forum members that used to frequent the board are still in business...I haven't seen some of them in a long time. :-?

Present!!! Little slow here is Kansas as well. Weather is finally starting to get nice so looking to pick up soon. Had a solid garden show last month where we sold ten units. The home show was a lot slower, we only sold three units at that one. Looking to be very busy with pool work though as the schedule is getting packed already in that area.

I'm sure things would be a lot more prosperous for all you dealers if the media would talk about something else besides the sky falling.

With the recent Fed bailout you might see a change in what the media is saying ... of course there still is a housing and credit crisis but the markets may be looking better. If yoiu got money put it into the market now!!!

Buy on margin!!!! Use other peoples money .... Oh wait that's what got us in trouble in the first place.

As the economy gets better and it will get better eventually your stocks will go up. If you're reinvesting the dividends then you're getting a lower dollar cost averaging for the stocks. If you're getting the cash then maybe start reinvesting it.

Remember the richest man in the world has a buy and hold forever policy when it comes to stocks. He may not own a hot tub or spend money like we do but he did buy a jet so he does "waste" money.

Please don't hate me, life is good up here. I'm located smack dab in the middle of the biggest oil boom in the United States. I've been selling tubs to 20 year olds that are making seventy to eighty thousand a year working six months out twelve on the oil rigs.

Wheat hit an all time high of $19.00 a bushel, and the housing market is crazy busy because of the oil boom.

I was 18 during the height of the last boom up here, (pi$$ed it all away),  I'm just glad I lived long enough to see another one..... 8-)

Oil boom so great, why am I paying 3.65 a gallon for gas?  Tell them boys to get out of the hot tub, and start pumping some oil!  8-)

Nice to hear mention of the boom here.
My brother is a driller working in Eastern MT and Western ND.

Things aren't booming over here,  :'(

But they are picking up QUITE nicely   :)

We had a slow January & February (compared to previous years), but the weather was much colder than in the last few years.

Some of the bigger condo developers are looking early this year (and very high-end), so the "housing crisis" seems to be less than critical at this point.

I'm dumping every extra penny into the market for the next 6 months minimum (hard with a little one on the way - but man, the time is now).  To he11 with the media, we all know sensational news sells best.

You guys will laugh at me, but I just sold a Hot Spring Accolade!  After trying since late '06 to dang near give the thing away (we even thought about doing a radio giveaway with it- it's blue granite with Redwood) I got someone to buy it!  Plus a sauna!

We've gotten really busy with pool sales, and our truck with the Limelight will be here Monday afternoon for the start of our Rainfall Sale.

HAHAHA!  Nice!  If you still have it in a couple of years I might be interested in buying it.  I have a 98 Bengal I can trade you!

Would you believe I once sold an Accolade for $9500?

WOW !! I can remember when we sold two Accolades, and fortunately one was the floor model! We didn't replace it.

I just lucked out on that one.
