After weeks of looking and wet testing (and reviewing this site), I think we've finally settled on the Hot Spring Vanguard. The price quoted to me here in Ohio is about $9200 and includes the cover, lifter and steps. They are also giving me about $300 in-store credit to be used for supplies or accesories.
They stated that this quote is their best offer (I tried to bargain). First of all, does this price seem fair? Also, any suggestions on getting a lower price or added goodies? Thanks in advance.

Prices are different from dealer to dealer. If you're happy with the Vanguard and think it's the spa for you, then buy it!! :)

Smitty,
Congrats on your selection! We had also seriously considered the Vanguard (with both my wife and I even wet testing it) and the best price we were quoted from our Hot Springs dealer here in San Antonio is $9900. This includes the cover with hydraulic lift, steps, chemicals and the Tri-X filter upgrade. It appears that your quote of $9200 (with a $300 store credit to boot) kicks the crap out of our price so I would have to say that you have a good deal.

I'm sure you'll find some that paid more and some that paid less. If you feel this is the right spa for you and you're satisfied that you're getting about the best deal you can out of this dealer (a store credit is often the way to bridge the gap) then go for it. If you're not sure of the spa or whther the dealer is really giving you their best price then continue to search/bargain.
Remember, its better to pull the trigger than to push it.

Thanks for the replies. Buying a spa is a bit frustrating in that it's hard to know what a good price is for these things.

Amen, brother!

Where in Ohio?

Northeast. I've been talking with Ohio Pools and Spas in Mayfield.

Bought my HS Vanguard here in BC this year for $8900 plus taxes. Included the cover, steps, cover cradle lifter, Tri-X filters and chemicals. Sounds like you're in the ball park.

Well everyone...I ended up buying the Vanguard today. $9100 plus tax with lifter, steps, start-up, and the Clarion exterior lighting system. Now we have to wait 4 weeks for its arrival. We're hoping for a Christmas Eve soak in the snow! Thanks to all who have offered advice. I'll post pics when it gets here.

Congrats! Welcome to Spatopia. I love my Vanguard. I'm sure you'll love yours.

Home of the Mayfield curLing club. I'll be sure to wave Hi, on my way by tomorrow. Welcome to the forum.

You can wave......but you had better keep your eye on the road over there with all of that road construction. It must be hard for business owners along that strip. I found myself taking Wilson Mills to Lander to get to Ohio Pools just to avoid Mayfield Road.

Ditto :)

Double Ditto...we love our new Vanguard. Don't worry about the pricing. While we were looking, it seemed all over the place (especially when reading on internet forums) and you never know what the prices truly are. If you like the tub and believe the price and dealer are fair, then enjoy the soaking. You bought a great tub with a great warranty and will have it for many years.
By the way, what color combo did you get???

We're getting the redwood/pearl combo. The pearl shell really looked great with the LED light on.

Again, Ditto. Nice choices. My DW loves the green or blue and hates, hates the red lights. ::)
