Title: Advice on personalized plates
Post by: wmccall on May 24, 2005, 11:53:58 am
We talked about some funny personalized plates. But here is some advice, if you have personalized plates, especially memorable ones, don't commit road rage.

This week I was heading up the intertate. It was 3 lanes wide. There were semis doing 55mph in the left and center lanes.  55mph is thier speed limit. Cars can go 65.  I was in the right line getting off at the next exit less than 1/4 mile up the road.  In this stretch of the highway, the exit ramp and the entrance ramp from the previous exit almost overlap.   As I was getting ready to exit, this lady in a Red Excursion comes up the entrance ramp, looking straight ahead, cell phone glued to her head on the left side along with her hand. I've got a car behind me, no where to go, knowing she has a yield sign. She doesn't see me till we are inches apart. She hits the brakes, goes behind the semis, passes them gets, in my lane and his the brakes in front of me.  She then speeds off, crossing white lines from the exit ramp back on to the highway  cutting off more cars.

You should not do this if you have an easy to remember personalized plate and with a "Dublin Soccer"  decal in the back window. (Dublin is a local suburb)  Someday I will see that vehicle again. I will not forget.

John Robert Kirkpatrick. Poor guy's plate simply said,

"JRK"

Which most folks took to mean

Jerk.

Today I saw a guy driving a Hummer H2, and the plate (didn't catch the state) was  SMALL1.   It couldn't have been referring to the vehicle.

I tried for a personalized plate many years ago. It was going on our repair truck, so I tried for all the 'spa' realated things I could think of. They were all taken. These were things like, And a bunch more.
So I just put down Spa and asked them to fill in with a number at the end.

I got "Spa9." It was fine for awhile, until people started asking me why our truck said it was "Spawning."

Check out the specs on this thing. It still generates 220HP. Impressive.

What's the torque?   Baby Bro is souping up an old land cruiser......dropping a 350 in it with 4 bolt mains.......and engineering it for purely climbing/competition with other jeeps.  He's makin it a torqurer.....which is what you want in a jeep....verses raw horsepower.

I have a 2004 dodge hemi,was thinking of a plate.
How bout.....HEMI ROID ?  lol
All ideas welcome.
