Title: Are warranty service calls completely free?
Post by: tinybubbles on November 05, 2007, 10:37:07 am
If you have your dealer come out for a service call while your tub is under warranty, is it 100% free?  Or, do they fix the problem free of charge and charge you for the trip fee?

I think that depends on the spa manufacturer considering they're supposed to be picking up the bill.

This can vary by dealer as much as by brand.  Sundance, for one, pays for exactly what is says in the warranty- parts and or labor, depending on the spefics of that repair.  It also says that some dealers MAY charge a trip fee.
The dealer I got my Optima from didn't charge the trip fee.  The dealer that took over for them when they stopped selling spa, does charge the trip fee.

Ask this question to any dealer that you are considering doing business with.

Other spa brands may vary, etc....

It depends 100% on the actual dealer.  Mfg's reimburse for parts and labor, not for travel.  Most  dealers will not charge a service call if you are within their geographic footprint (this could be 5 miles or could be 50 miles as it depends on the individual market).
