Post by: 104 degrees on July 24, 2007, 04:31:06 pm
Do you think you would buy a spa with out a wet test???

Do you feel everyone that sells a spa should have a wet test area???

Thanks John 104 degrees :)

I think any dealer should have a wet test spa if they can, one of there best sellers.

We have 3 to try and will fire up any other spa that someone wants to try.   ;)

We had a guy in on Sunday at the tent sale, that told us Costco was offering a 6 year bring back spa no question asked if the spa failed,we have not checked into it yet but what a deal if true.  ::)

Doesnt make the spa any better but to the btm feeders and some good quality customers it might.

The truth of it is most people who purchase a spa do not wet test no matter where they buy.  At my local Costco you can't even dry test because the one spa on display is on its side in a rack against a wall.

When we bought are crown xl, we went to sams  that evening. my girlfriend said"look at this spa" (on its side) its bigger and less money. i said, Who is going to come and fix it when it stops working and its -20 out(the look i got) we started walking again.

Thank god.

I couldn't quote on a percentage bases but we do quite a few returns for customers when they upgrade to a Sundance from a Costco tub.

Its also strange, I don't know why, and I don't quite understand it. Must be difference in Markets but our one store does alot of wet tests, where as I don't do any and I out sell them. I agree though I don't think I would spend the money on a spa with out a wet test, although I'm the guy who DOES buy a car with out a test drive..haha

I know an independant delivery company that claims to pick up @ 6 a month.

Not because of the lack of wet test though.  Mostly cost of operation and poor service when repairs needed, so i have been told.

So it sounds like it cost about 300 plus to send it back :'(

Return policy says shipping and handling are covered.  However, customer has spent money on pad and electrical and high energy costs and head aches etc.

If the person enjoyed the tub they would probally buy again from another dealer so no loss there for the pad and electrical set up, if they didn't enjoy the tub a very cheap investment for them and they now have a small patio

We purchased out HS Prodigy without wet testing.  We saw it, saw it in operation, saw that it had plenty of power and enough jets, so we bought one.  Had it delivered within a week.  We haven't been sorry yet.  We just love it.

It could be up to a 1,000 buck loss
