Someone told me that you can Clean your filters in the dishwasher and it works great as long as they are standing up......Just wondering if anyone had tried it.Johnny thunders

It's just dead skin, sweat, body fluids, oils, lotions and such... Why not!! :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P
It's not like you eat and drink off of those dishes or anything! ;)
I've heard of people doing that too but I chose not to.

If the water is above 140 degrees F you'll damage the filter.

Steve makes a good point but if that doesn't bother you just make sure the drying cycle is ABSOLUTELY off or you'll be sorry.

thanks to you all,I am glad I don't use the dish washer at all....Ratter do the dishes by hand and was wondering since I am not useing it ,it might as well be a good and easy idea to clean the filters....Johnny Thunders :-/

HotSpring has introduced a new filter, the Tri-X. They can go into the dishwasher. They are about twice the size of our old filters, but will retrofit - so any of you out there who own HotSpring tubs might want to check them out. Yes, they are more expensive, but they should also last longer.

As to putting filters into the dishwasher: I figure that watever is left after the filters have run through a complete cycle would be minimal - and it's most likely not any worse than the bits of left-over food and grease on the incoming dishes. Plus, the dishes are washed in strong, sudsy detergent, so I don't really worry about getting stuff on them from the filters.
No that I think of it, I wonder if I shouldn't be worried about getting gunk on the filters from the last load of dishes. Hmm..
