Title: Jacuzzi J230 heating problem
Post by: SSS UK on June 10, 2018, 03:36:23 pm
Hi everyone.

Can anyone tell me if their Jacuzzi J230 heater still works when the high speed on the pump is activated?

I have found that once we press for full speed the heater light goes out  :-\

This is no good to us as we use the spa in winter and it soon gets cold!

any info on how to rig it if this is by design would be gratefully received  :)

Regards,

Paul "SSS UK"

Is it a 1 pump or two pump spa?   The original 230 only had one if I remember right, then went to two.   The 235 and 245 have two.   A lot depends on the size of your breaker.

most of the time if it is on 120, the heater will turn off when the jet pumps are on high. is it a 120 or 240 volt spa?

If it's a 50 amp breaker it should probably stay on when in high with only 1 pump.    What's the breaker say on it?

yeah. seems strange for 240v-50a service. it would make sense to turn it off if it is in 240V-30a service.
it is also possible it is programmed wrong so...

Could be a dipswitch setting

It shouldn't have DP switches but it does have the jumpers.   If not the original owner, it's possible they had it set for 30 amp?   I just don't remember if there is a jumper for that?  Been awhile..
