Title: Foam
Post by: TonyInTennessee on July 10, 2020, 09:30:23 am
New to the hot tub world...I've searched this forum and I'm not seeing the question already answered. We've had our new hot tub for just over a week now. We've followed the dealers advice on start up chemicals but we are finding ourselves with a tub full of foam or suds whenever the pumps are running. We have made sure that we only wear swimsuits that have been washed in water without soap. We are taking a water sample in tomorrow to be tested but I wanted to see if anyone had any ideas.

Was the foam present prior to you using the hot tub or did it not appear until after first use?

We used the tub the same day that it was installed. The foam appeared after using it.

Are you sure there was no residual soap in the swim suits from earlier washes?  Sounds like the suit are the problem.

New spas are tested at the factory often using the same water over and over also it's new and will have some remnants from manufacturing process. Use spa shock and clean filters regularly

After having my water tested at the dealer, it ends up that my Ph was extremely high...which is also a cause for foam. According to the dealer, the high end of the normal range is 120, mine was 364!
