Title: Hot Tub Rocks Slightly on New Concrete Pad
Post by: flipflopper on April 26, 2016, 09:40:31 am
I just finished pouring my concrete pad and after it cured (6 days) I moved the tub on to it. The tub rocks slightly when empty at one corner where it is 3/8" off the ground. The other three corners are straight.

Here's the thing: the concrete pad is level as I checked it out a million ways to Sunday once it cured.

At its former site, the tub sat on EZ Pads that had really gotten out of shape over the past three years. I wonder if the spa didn't warp itself slightly over time.

I'm hoping to get water in it fairly soon once it passes its inspections. But I'm worried about the rocking.

The weight of the water (nearly 4,000 pounds of it) will push the tub down, but couldn't this damage the tub as the weight will depress the high corner and thus alter its shape somewhat?

Can you shim it?

I thought you weren't supposed to shim hot tubs as I would leave unsupported gaps in the areas I am unable to shim.
I'll fill it and see what happens.

Shimming depends on the hot tub and how the weight is distributed.

going to assume your old site warped the frame some......    So how did it turn out with the water?
