Who are the toughest meanest people on the ice now? The curlers!

The next week I got a larger sweatshirt.

Or better yet, in action.

Actually we have a pretty good cap, we have to pay $150 a season to play. I would say this is the most action this ice has seen (notice the Blue Jacket's logo) except this is a practice facility where the US team practiced for that big event (World cup?) last year? Other junior and high school teams still play here.

I hope the next one doesn't shrink like the one in that picture did. ::)
Check the instructions on the tag next time!

I understand competely...escalating costs for my hockey team's ice is now $170/hr (Can.)
Not to mention another $20/game to pay those guys in the striped shirts for showing up
This is just a regular community rink with relatively hot showers for the first 3 guys - it goes up considerably every year

At least Curling is self officiated and that works well. In fact that is a major part of the plot in the movie starring Leslie Nielson called, "Men with brooms" I'll bet you Canadians have seen it!

I see you wear padded T-shirts as do many of us more mature men.
My wife was quoted recently as saying, "Who Chas? No, those aren't love handles, they're death grips."
::)

So did Curling start as a way to encorage employees to sweep the floor?
-
Actually I think it started in efforts to keep from freezing...the introduction of alcohol was a logical progression as both activities numb the cold :D

In closer review...you guys are offside in that picture bill! ;D

Keep in mind this is Hockey ice and not curling ice if you are judging that by the blue line. The only curling markers on our ice is the House itself.

Ahhhh, thanks for mentioning the obvious Bill. It was a joke buddy! ::)

Oh, ok, I'm new enough to the sport to not claim to know everything. There are a lot of experienced curlers in our leaque and most are pretty nice and understanding that 80% of us never have done this before, but there is one that will start running and screaming if something is done wrong.
