Title: Size of concrete pad
Post by: DianeG on August 10, 2021, 10:24:38 am
Hello,
We are having a concrete pad poured this week for a round Nordic Spa hot tub.  Diameter is 78.5 inches and the salesman said the pad should be about the same diameter as the tub.  Is that correct? We are thinking 80” diameter pad, as we will be landscaping around the tub.  Also thinking we can put the steps on a gravel base.  Thoughts?  Thank you!

Personally, I would make it a couple feet larger. You can put the steps on a gravel base but it's nicer to step on the concrete.

80" will work though.

I thought about this a bit. I would recommend making it square.

I know it might look a but funny now but some potted plants will soften the corners and you are set up if you ever get a new square tub in the future. As @Tman122 said, as big as possible 96x96 will fit an 8' tub down the road.

And make it big enough to walk around the tub. 10x10 or 12x12 maybe!
