Weird leaning towards gross.  :P
Have you asked your dealer? I see you have a Marquis and I guess you're using the bromine inline system? I've had my Marquis over a year and never saw anything like that.
What chemicals are you using? Does anyone who uses the tub use skin creams, hair conditioners, etc.?

The only thing I've ever seen that would be translucent was a form of algie I've seen on an old used tub I got third hand. At first I thought perhaps these floating things were bits of silicone from a repair, but later came to the conclusion they were algie.  Does this sound simillair to what you are expericencing?

If it looks a bit like somebody dropped a tissue into the spa, then you have one of two things:
1. Water mold. Shock heavily w/chlorine and clean the filters for three days.
2. Somebody dropped a tissue into the spa.

Did you use the dishwasher to rinse the filters? You should only be using plain water, nothing added.
Otherwise, I'm at a loss. Maybe some of the greater minds here might know.  ::)

Might be just good ol' Calcium. Drop the pH and TA a bit, and keep it down for a few days. If it goes away, then you know.

Just wondering...you put your filters in the dishwasher?  I know Hot Springs have filters that can be cleaned in the dishwasher, but you have a Marquis tub, right? Maybe your strange stuff is a result of washing the filters in the dishwasher...I don't think Marquis recommends washing their filters in a dishwasher...Mendo..Markee..DPS...could verify that.

Hi Bonibelle,
Actually, I do rinse the filters in the dishwasher. I let them soak in the filter cleaner, hose 'em down and give them a final rinse in the dishwasher to make sure I remove any remaining cleaner residue out of them. Just make sure you turn off the heat cycle. Air dry only.
But no soap in the dishwasher!  :D

absoslutely..... when washing your filters in a dishwasher, the dishwashing soap could leave residue. i think a couple of spoonfulls of laundry sopa would work well..... in the dishwasher.... ;) ;) ;) ::)

FWIW, I just recently had a problem with foam in my tub after washing the filters in the dishwasher.  The concensus here was that there was water in the bottom of the dishwasher from the last cycle that had detergent in it.

I intend to continue to use the dishwasher for my filters, but I will run the machine through an empty cycle first just to make sure there is no old water left in the machine from the previous cycle.

Um...you might also want to consider this when washing your dishes too.  ;)
