Hi,
I'm talking to a local dealer and getting the following price on a 2019 (floor model) Flair:
$11648 (+ CA tax) with cover, lifter, Salt system, chemicals, subpanel, delivery, 0% financing.
This 'deal' seems rather high to me and is also missing the steps I see in many deals.
Thoughts?

If my google skills are correct that translates to about $8900 USD, which is a very good price. There was no change between a 2019 and a 2020. I would inquire with your dealer about the step because you’re going to want one.

Thanks for the reply, castletonia.
So I got some more flavors on pricing and financing seems to add quite a bit to the cost. I guess this is just the local dealer as I've seen financing on other posts not affect pricing.
2019 Floor model, no financing, includes Salt, cover & lifter, delivery: $10,099
2019 Floor model, with financing, includes Salt, cover & lifter, delivery: $11,648
2020, no financing, includes Salt, cover & lifter, delivery: $10,948
2020, with financing, includes delivery only: $11,648 (+$850 for Salt, cover/lifter): $12,498
All of these prices don't include tax.
I've seen other posts on this forum where people are getting all the extras + financing on this spa for under $10K, but I guess living in the SF Bay area has it's penalty!

My bad, I thought you wrote CAD, not CA.
Cash is king. Any time you make a purchase with a credit card or financing, their are fees that the merchant incurs. Cash and check do not incur any fees. How long of financing are you being offered? Pricing varies based on geographic region and the dealers cost of doing business. Each dealer sets their price irrelevant of what others sell for. All I know about the SF Bay Area is that it is an expensive area to live in.
If the Flair is the hot tub you like and you trust your dealer, counter their offer with what you think is a fair price based on your research. Worst thing they can do is say no. FWIW, the prices you are being quoted for the 2019 would be inline with what I sell for except I also include the Polymer step.

I took delivery on a brand new 2019 flair, with salt, cover, lifter, and steps all delivered for $10107 (price includes 6.75% tax). This was a cash deal.

Cash is KING for sure vs using a CC and especially vs financing.
Unfortunately there's not much advice we can give (beside moving) to get around the fact that outdoorfan is shopping for a spa in the Bay area! :o

Now that's what i'm talking about! Nice deal for sure. I'm looking at easily another $2000, maybe $2500 with tax and steps.

It's "0% financing" for up to 60 months. Nice offer except when you factor in the massive price increase for the "0% financing", it might as well be 8% financing. Maybe they think no one will notice. :)
I will offer a lower price, like $9500 (before tax), and also ask to include the steps. If that doesn't work, there's a Caldera dealer down the street and I guess I can probably get a Makena for less.
-
What is your tax rate in California?
Makena costs more than a Flair so if you're able to get it for less, then that's the better deal. I don't see why your dealer doesn't bundle steps in. Steps and cover lift are like the two accessories that go with 99% of spas.
I sell both so I know you're getting quality either way. Just make sure the Caldera dealer is reputable and trustworthy but more importantly, get the spa you want. Don't get a different hot tub just because the price is a bit better.

Same idea as car dealerships. 0% for so long or $3000 manufacturer rebate. 0% financing isn’t cheap for dealers to do.

Between 6% and 10%. 9% where I'd get the Flair.

Just want to make sure I'm not missing something. $11,648 + 9% sales tax is $12,696.32 with 9% sales tax. If you get a Polymer step, lets say $299, add tax and that is $325.91. That is only an additional $1,374.23, not $2,000 - $2,500.
Not trying to argue, just trying to understand the numbers.

Oh, yes, that was in comparison to the price browerjs got above for $10,107 including tax and all the extras.
