Title: 2008 Hot Spring Grandee stuck at 91 degrees
Post by: Chiadrum on September 23, 2013, 08:06:12 am
Hi all did a search here but couldn't find anything to describe my situation.Pulled the filters to wash them about four days ago and that seems to be when the problem started but I'm not positive about that.Noticed it last night. Now suddenly the spa will heat to 91 but no further.I reset the entire spa and same condition. No breakers were tripped at all but I reset everything anyway.I can't find any other breakers or reset switches anywhere.
I pull the cover on the IQ2020 and it says the heater is running.I hear the hum of the circ pump but I don't see any bubbles rising up from the bottom like I normally do.
I know the spas won't fully heat when the circ pump isn't fully functioning.
If anyone can provide me with some good diagnostic steps it will be much appreciated.Owner's manual doesn't have much to offer.Does anyone have a service manual perhaps?

Thanks all.

Unfortunately no we are the second owners.I am guessing circ pump.I pulled the main filter after shutting the tub down for 20 minutes and it still stays stuck at 91 and no bubbles.I guess the circ pump needs to be replaced.:(
Still open for suggestions.I would love to verify that it is the circ pump for sure.

The no bubbles from the ozonator is throwing me off a bit.
I was going to say it is the heater relay board.  I am guessing there is a red light on the card indicating the spa is calling for heat?

Where is the temperature sensor ?
My Artisan has something in the filter chamber, which i'm convinced is actually the temperature probe.

You need to do a few things to be sure it's the circ pump:
1.remove the cap on the filter for the circ pump (the only one with a hollow grey tub in the filter core).
2.clean the ozone injector. Note: The injector should be a black plastic thing with a 1" vinyl tube running into and out of both ends and a 1/4" tube running out of the middle. Unscrew the fitting the small tube attaches to (with the spa power on, jets off) and it should begin to suck air. If water comes flowing OUT, then you have a bad circ pump.

If doing those two things restores the little bubbles,  then you have a bad heater relay board and the circ pump is fine.

Ok cleaned the ozone injector and the ozonator.Bubbles are back but the heat is not.I guess I'll be replacing the circuit board.
Anyone know where to get the best deal on those?
