Title: Clarifier for Well Water?

I noticed a couple people suggested using clarifier for cloudy water (if shocking doesn't help).  

Does anyone know if it's OK to use that if you have well water?  One of the people at my dealer told me never to use it because we have well water  (I did use metal control when I first filled.  ???

I have well water also and  use a clarifier when it needs it. I have had no problems with it yet. knock on wood!!!!
