Title: Artic Klondiker
Post by: rosewoodsteel on March 27, 2014, 12:42:03 pm
I have a couple of pictures elsewhere on the forum, but realized that I didn't have a shot with the cover open. So here is a picture of our new Artic Klondiker.

That is a really beautiful tub -- I love the color combination between the shell and the cabinet.   You've got it in such a pretty setting - thanks for sharing.

Thanks, guys.   I am a sucker for wood, so that was one of the reasons the Artic appealed to me.  They recommend that it be re stained, once a year.  For me, it is worth the extra work.

Thanks, Darzmr.

Yes I am!  The past week I've been sick, so I haven't gotten in.   This weekend was absolutely miserable.  Rain; fog; very wet snow; sleet; rain again.   If I felt better, I would have jumped in.   I decided to  wait until I felt better.   I've also ordered a heavy, hooded robe and outdoor slippers, which should make my soaks (and walk to and from the hot tub) more enjoyable.

Very nice looking cabinet, the only downfall for me would be the distance to get in it, but great once your in.

I just got a new hooded robe and some outdoor slippers.    I think I am good to go now. :)

Thank you, doodle.    I thought I was being old fashioned when I chose that shell color. :)

I'd think of it as "classic" Rosewood ;D

Or how 'bout "timeless" ...   hee hee

Thank you, Doodle!

I am a sucker for classic looking things.
Western cedar will require a coat of stain, once a year, but I don't mind.
With a little maintenance, I hope it remains timeless. :)

Just as an update, the "cover over the cover" has been holding up well.   It kept all of the sap from my top, which has saved me a lot of work. :)

That cover over the cover idea works well but in time that top cover will wear exposing the cover. You might consider putting a cover on the cover that protects the cover to lengthen the cover's life.  ;)

I bought a spa cap too (cover over the cover) mostly for the winter.  Makes it so much easier to get the snow off the cover in one sweep.

Very nice.  I use a sno broom (it's made for automobiles)to push the snow off my cover, been using it the past two seasons and it works great.
