First timer here to WTB.
I've had a small Leisure Bay 3 person tub for some time now. It is likely 10 years old and was more or less given to me. I've wired in in for 230v, had to change the pump, get a cover, etc. Now the unit wont heat water any more. Can anyone share how can I diagnose if it is the heater, the control board? I am not much of an electrician but the only estimate of repair by a local pool/spa shop is over $1k. I just cant see this as realistic when a control board is under $300 and a replacement heater element is under $100 from a company like Rec Warehouse or SpaParts123.
Granted I don't really know what I'm doing when it comes to working with a spa but I cant see this repair taking more than an afternoon. Am I deceiving myself here?

If it's both the control board and the heater that's 400 bucks in parts. 4-5 hours labor at a hundred per hour, yep a grand.

Yea I could see that, problem is I'm be'in told over $1k just for the heater. Can anyone suggest a few folks in South Palm Beach or North Broward county Florida I could get this properly diagnosed and fixed with?

I don't think a 10 yo leisure bay is worth putting any money in. It has reached it useful life.

Your probably right, the problem is Ive already sunk the coin for a new cover and and a pump into it. Change the heater and (possibly) the main board. What else could go wrong?
