Title: Marquis Spas Mirage, some jets not blowing out water
Post by: Sumpter28 on December 08, 2016, 04:06:28 am
Hey there, so i have the Marquis Spa Mirage model and got it as a gift from in laws, everything is running properly, except some of the jets are not pumping water. The neck, mid back jets on one side are working, and the feet jets on the bottom on the oppositeside are working just fine. I have tinkered with the jets a little, some are hard to move around, tried twisting them to see if they turn on, nothing. I have noticed though that some of them let out some air bubble from time to time. The hot tub has only 1 pump. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you adjusted the Big divertor valve on top?  It should say V2 or V3 on it.  That controls where the flow goes

Sounds like an airlock, if so; simple fix, take a clean (new) plunger and remove the filter and plunge like you would a toilet, if it is, you should see air bubbles belching out.

Just tried the plunger, didnt notice anything. I was mistaken, the neck and the foot jets work, not the mid or other jets

Ah, i have not. The knob was broken off before i even got it.

this is most likely the issue, that knob "diverts" the water to the various different seats/jets...you'll need at minimum the knob but since it's a used spa I would replace the inner workings of the diverter valve as well...there are re-build kits that include all the parts/gaskets that are usually available from the manufacturer for under $50-$60, I'm sure one of the Marquis guys on here can provide a part # for you.

Just as a tidbit, the handle is broken. I have a replacement handle, but it looks like the part where it connects to is completely broken off. Am i able to replace with it still filled? Or do i drain?

just make sure the power to the spa is OFF and you can certainly disassemble it with water in it

Do you know the year of the tub. The newer ones the part number you need is 350-6348. That is for the insert and the handle. Like twin cities said you can do it filled. Takes 5 minutes or so to do. Either kill power or put tub in soak mode before doing it

Believe its an 07 from the paperwork it came with

350-6285 is the part I'm pretty sure. Tub is probably a 2008 as I don't believe the mirage was around in 07. @markee can you verify that for him. Pretty sure that's the part but not 100%

The only reason why i say 07, is it said it was purchased in 07. But thank you guys, that would explain why its just using the neck and feet jets. Also the top of the insert is completely broken off. Much appreciated

I was close with part number just got home and looked it up. 350-6289. Mirage didn't exist in 2007 but maybe it was purchased in 07 after the 2008 tubs came out. Was it purchased late in the year?

Ill tell you what, definitely aint an 09 haha
Just looked at the parts for 09 and later, not the same knob on the top. I saw this product and would like an opinion: 350-6297. I do have everything else besides the insert, and as soon as i get home ill try and see what insert it is.

Do you have the serial number on the spa? You likely need the 350-6297 tri-zone/3-way valve.  In 2007 they made the Mirage in the "Limited Series" under the model name 520M.  I believe it used the 3-way valve.

If you have everything but the insert then just get that. I think that part is the same on the current ones. Should just be just a Tri zone insert

That part is the insert only isn't it?

Hottubguy was right- if it's a 2007 520M Mirage, that spa used a 2-way valve which is part number 350-6283.  The 2-way valve was typically black in color and about 4" long when you unscrew the top ring it and take it out.  A 3-way valve is 8-9" long and white in color.  I would take the valve out and describe to us how it looks.

Okay, soon as my family and I get home after festivites I will check the valve.

Okay home now, was working on the hot tub trying to take the insert out, but its being a pain to take out. As far as i could tell it should just pop right out correct? Any tips or tricks you guys can tell me?

Long needle nose pliers?

If you've taken off the ring that holds the valve in place, it should pop out.  If it's stuck, needle nose pliers or pliers of some sort usually work pretty well like Tman said.
