I bought a used Hot Spring 2000 classic. It was inside of a foreclosed home. The guy I bought it off of didn't know a thing about it. All he knew was he had to cut 2 feet out above a door way to get the thing out. It seems to be in really good shape. So far I have replaced both moto massage jets, all three roto massage jets, both pillows, and I had to get all the filter caps (with filters). I just got the electric hooked up this morning and I went home at lunch to check on it and it appears to have a small leak up under the 2 position jet selector (diverter valve). I this a common problem? Am I going to have to drain the tub and dig out the insulation to find this leak? Or can this problem be fixed by rebuilding the jet selector switch?

Welcome to the forum. I've seen a lot of those tubs around and we have a lot of HS professionals with a lot of experience on them. I'm sure they will catch your message soon. Thanks for joining us.

I am not a tech. Hopefully one will check in. However, if it is the diverter valve that is leaking, my understanding is you don't have to do a foam dig to replace.

Ya I got to looking at it last night. I pulled the lever of while the jets were running and got blasted in the face. I turned the jets off and then removed the face plate to see 2 screws. Then called the local HS store and they sell a kit for $30+ to fix it.
If a tech see's this how hard is it to rebuild?
wmccall is that a mustang logo as your avatar? I have an 87 LX with t tops, 5.0 5 speed.....

Those Classics are tanks. I still can't believe we have people buy covers for those tubs from the mid-to-late 80s.

I got the kit and fixed the valve. It works great now. I'm still waiting for a few dry days around here to see if I still have a leak.
When I went to buy the kit from my local HS store, the guy "Joe" explained in great detail on how to put it in without any headaches.
So far I have recieved alot of help from him on getting this thing up and running. I'm just trying to get the PH down into it's correct ranges.
I'm more than ready to get in this thing.......

I have a '91 that has had very little work needed over the years. The older HotSpring are the best IMO.

I had it in the shop for some minor damage when a part came flying off a truck in front of me and my sales guy talked me into trading it in for the 09.

I do in home PC repair and I have at least 2 customers with these tubs.

Back to the tub, I've got a new question. I've got a drip coming from the jet pump behind the control box. How big of a job is it to take everything out and rebuild that pump?
