Title: Spa Sentry or other pH Alk Stabilizer
Post by: DoubleA on June 09, 2006, 08:44:39 am
Just wondering if anyone uses these and how they work.  I have a pH that likes to float to the 8 range.  I'm on dichlor and thinking on my next fill I would maybe try one of these to try and keep my pH and alk stable.  Any comments

The only bit of knowledge I can offer is that they are not recommended if you have hard water, as they cause significant calcium precipitation. How "hard" I do not know.

We sell spa sentry. it can be used in any condition of hardness. In any condition, it kicks the calcium out of solution, temporarily clouding the spa for about 1 day. The calcium is deposited in the filter, which you then removethe filter and rinse it out. The calcium is replaced by some sort of polymer. Your spa heater MUST be of during this 24 hour "calcium-kick-out" period. The product holds the ph for a month. Bormine tablet users see less than a month.
