Title: Power Outage Middle of Winter
Post by: Wald1907 on December 05, 2014, 10:47:34 am
Hey everyone!  My husband and I are virgin hot tub owners. Have only had ours since mid summer.  We live up in Northern Alberta so the temperature gets very cold.  Anyway, a week ago, the power went out here for a few hours. No big deal however, not even thinking about it, but obviously it tripped the hot tub.  Well last night was the first night since the outage that we tried to use the tub.  Well of course it was not on.  The water was not frozen at all in but was at a balmy 36F.  We turned it on hoping it would heat up and things would be fine. (Dream on right?!).  needless to say, nothing has changed. Still sitting at 36F.  We didn't try the jets or anything knowing the lines might be frozen.  My husband has a heater on it right now inside the panel hoping maybe that will help. Not positive its the lines, but chances are..... any other advice???

Will the pumps run? Turn it on with the access panel off and stick your self in view of the pumps and jets. If water leaks all over shut it off.
