Ohio Hot Tub Heaven
Spatech_tuo:
Hey Bill,
Is the the place in Ohio you were previously talking about? It seems amazing that 90% of the area lodging has hot tubs. The sales and service people must be busy.

Yup, thats it, more hot tubs than people in Hocking County. Our favorite is this one.
Me and the Mrs.
Great dark skies too!

Which one's that Bill? I've been to a couple, my favorite is Turtle Hill. I take the kids to Hocking Hills state park fairly often with the camper. Beautiful country down there.

They may have changed owners, but the name, and phone number is still good. This is right across from Old Man's Cave.

I highly recommend Hocking Hills- the woods are beautiful, the trails are lovely, and the caves & other natural features are really amazing. Just don't stay at Deer Watch cabins. This was several years ago, but they didn't have separate smoking and nonsmoking cabins. Ours smelled like an ashtray. Some cabins advertise "softened" or "filtered" water, which I highly recommend. I grew up on well water, but the sulfuric nastiness that came out of those pipes was something I hadn't experienced. Lastly, the hot tub itself was tiny, shallow, and had 4 jets - but that's not why we avoided it. There was so much chlorine (or, more probably, chloramine) that we gagged just getting near it. When you add smoke, sulfur, and chlorine together, it makes some horrible homemade mustard gas. Let's just say the place stunk to high heaven.
I was quite glad to get back home to my non-stinky, multi-jetted, high end hot tub. I realized right then that I'm a Hot Tub Snob, and proud of it.
