I was a big fan of Micky, Michael, Peter and Davy....Had all thier albums.

Even bought some of the solo albums.

They interveiwed as actors and became musicians....

Yup they were put togethor as actors, not muscians. Although they could play the instruments, they weren't that good. It was scandelous when it got out that during thier concerts, a back up band was performing and the monkees were just faking it.

Davey Jones, I understand made quite a bit of money investing in music video productiosn. (Remember how each episode, featured a music vidoe? Davey saw the potential of this medium and was set when MTV took off)

Micky Dolenz does ALOT of voice over and cartoon work. (Remember Arthur from the Tick?")

Nesmith's mom invented liquid paper. So he was all set, but also made some money in movie production/directing.

Peter Tork blew through all his money, and got Busted several times for Pot.  (I heard he's now delivering spas for a nut case in CO).

I don't even know why I care, but they seriously had a back-up band performing?  I thought I read that at their first concert they were proud of the fact that they were playing their instruments and that it had been confirmed?

I did not think Nesmith would put up with that.
