Who is getting snow right now?
« on: February 12, 2007, 12:02:50 pm »
WEATHER ALERT
from the 610 WTVN Newsroom.

A major winter storm has developed in the Plains states and will begin to move into Ohio late this evening. A winter storm watch goes into effect Tuesday morning with the possibility of 4-6 inches of snow for Central Ohio and more to the north.

Only in Columbus is 4 to 6" even worth mentioning.

I'm sure Upstate NY is laughing at that proclamation. The first sentence says it all:

http://www.foxnews.com/wires/2007Feb11/0,4670,ColdWeather,00.html

"This village in upstate New York's snowbelt gets a lot of snowfall during the winter, but last week's total _ more than 11 feet, unofficially _ might be an all-time record."  :o

Wmccall,

The early stages of that storm reached my area at about noon today. The precipatation is in the form or rain for right now.(temp is 37) It will be changing over to a mix through the night as the temp drops and then eventually to snow throughout the day tommarrow. Total predicted accumalation here is 5-8''. I will keep you updated.

Why Not (the weather man)

Clear skies tonight and sunny & clear tomorrow but we're supposed to get it on Wednesday.
We're leaving early Wednesday AM for a cruise out of Miami. I'm hoping we're out of here before they cancel the flight out!  :-?

My parents and my sister both live just south of Parish/Mexico, which has been making the national news for about a week now.  Their local weatherman is going to be on the Today show tomorrow to talk about it.  At my sister's place, you can easily sled off of the roof right onto the bank of snow below.

Brown ground here in Northern Minnesota, well not really but well below average snowfall of 120 inches a year probably closer to 20" maybe a bit more but, very very cold lately and with the minumal snow, no insulation to help the frost not go so deep into the ground which means......yup busted water mains everywhere. But good clear 29-35 inches of ice for fishing on the lakes.

-22 F  tonight folks!  Then we are supposed to warm up, maybe +30 by Saturday as ND's capital city of Bismarck once again attempts to re-claim our Guinness World Record of making the most simultaneous snow angels.  We are looking for 4000 people.  Hot tub party at my place afterwards.  Incidentally, we are re-claiming it from Michigan!  They stole it, the buggers!

Are there 4000 people in Bismark?   Just kidding- and I get to kid because most of my family hails from the Mandan, New Salem, and Judson.  Still have some family in Mandan and New Salem.
