showers
Brewman:
Hey Bill, does that fancy hose windin' shower make your hill billy neighbors green with envy?
Chas:
I don't know exactly what you are looking for. Yes, I have an outdoor shower I sell. I even have one in stock that I would dearly love to find a good home for. I take that back - doesn't have to be a good home - just a home. I don't care if you beat it, starve it and talk mean to it.
Most of the folks who live along the beach have outdoor showers installed with two shower heads: one up high for showering and one down low to rinse off feet. The drawback I have heard from many of them is that the outdoor shower is usually so far away from the water heater that it almost never gets warm, so they just runse in cold water. That's a bummer coming out of the ocean unless you are heading into the hot tub, then it doesn't matter much.
The one I have for sale is redwood, with a simple pvc pipe and valve. You can hook it up to a garden hose, and if you leave the hose out in the sun you get real hot water. For a minute or two. Or you could plumb it into warm water - whatever you want to do.
It is from Sylvan Woods - new, still in boxes - ships UPS - I'm taking offers.

When the water coming out of your faucet is 78 year around, I don't wanna hear no bitchin'

My wife purchased on that looks very similar to Chas' picture, (but in "teak" ::)) at Target a couple of years ago. It only gets used during summer when kids are likely to go from the yard into the kiddy pool or hot-tub, and we ask them to try to keep dirt/grass out of the water. I think the tray of water that we place next to the steps actually does more. If adults used it a lot, I'd plumb a warm water faucet to supply it, but the kids think the cold water is part of the fun.

Quite true- the tap water is always warmer than the ocean.
