Bonibelle:
Sadly, our herds of deer are being thinned by automobiles!
Every day there are at least 2 or 3 dead deer on the road to my kids school. Needless to say nature takes care...we have an abundant population of buzzards :-/..which if you know anything about birds, are awesome critters themselves ;)
galen:
Well, Bonibelle I like birds also. I just bought one. But I don't think I can post a picture till my post get above a certain number. I'm just a newbee ;D But I'll try to post a picture of Kona.
galen:
Hi, anne! your such a nice person. This is another buddy of mine. He loves donuts. I love all kinds of animals. I take care of a bunch.

Don't get me wrong, I do eat meat, I'm just against hunting for sport. Hunting for neccessity or to feed your family is a different thing altogether. I don't want to start anything up, I'm just stating my opinion

But if your hunting for neccesity, you do shoot bambi and females and anything you see, and you kill as many as you can and you hunt them all year long. If your hunting for sport you shoot the biggest buck you can find, you only shoot one and you only do it once a year. A certain number of permits are issued to each area, and the herd is managed just the same as a heard of cattle. The difference is there is no fences.

In Canada eh:
--- Quote ---I laugh when I hear people complain about introducing natural preditors into their old habitats. Wolves and Coyotes are being looked at and people don't want them around ... I guess if you introduce 5 pair of wolves and they start multiplying eventually the hunting of dear and such will stop because they will thin the herds themselves,
--- End quote ---
Nature has a way of balancing itself.
Just in our own area I noticed a alot and I do mean alot of rabbits when we moved in. Well its now 6 years later and now I can see an increase in the fox population and can even hear the odd coyote howl at night. I understand Tmans point of careful hunters only taking a buck but I think if you leave it alone nature will even it out. Once again its just my opinion and I know alot of people will have a different one.
As for the animals shooting back, that would really make it a sport! :o
