Mr. Moderator hits the road (resized)
Reese:
I remember stopping at a tavern in the country just outside of Buffalo while on our way to Niagra Falls 24 years ago (first stop on our honeymoon). It claimed to be the originator of the "famous Buffalo Wing". I have no idea if it was true, or if every bar in Buffalo made that claim. The wing craze had not made it to MN at that point, so "famous..." meant nothing to me, but we decided "When in Buffalo..." and gave them a try. I remember thinking "The wings are pretty good, but there isn't much meat and they are too messy -- this will never go anywhere". :-? Probably my first step on the path away from wealth and prosperity.
There was no reason to remember the name at the time, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't Hooter's or Buffalo Wild Wing.
Neil:
Sorry, I should of known better. I don't recall table cloths at any Hooters I've seen.

--- Quote ---Well almost, There are a lot of places that serve wings in Buffalo, but this place serves THE wing.

Ah well if we're talking something local, I'm SOL - I've only ever been to Buffalo on the way to somewhere else (does the New York thru-way still put you to sleep with the pavement rhythm? It's been a LONG time since I drove through there).
:)
NE-Phil:
That would be the Anchor Bar in Buffalo, NY
Woohoo! I'll send you a PM with my address for that used test strip!!! ;D

I was going to guess Honey's. That's the last place I remember going to after we crossed the river on one of our Niagara golf trips. But I don't usually drive so I may not remember where else we'd have gone to over the years. I'll have to ask the guys who have been the designated drivers. I know the last time in the spring the customs guys didn't let us bring our extra wings home. paul
