Yipes . . . and we were thrilled to see it go down under $3 last week . . .  :-X

Brewman:
Never thought I'd be saying things like how happy I am to see gasoline dropping DOWN TO $2.32/gallon.
 Hope it keeps going down.

But then someone in the middle east will sneeze, and that'll be all that's needed to pop prices right back up there!

IMO the smart money is on planning for a post-petroleum reality - goodness knows how that's to be done, but I think the days of "cheap" gas are numbered . . . if not over.

Brewman:
The days of cheap gas were over in my mind when the magical $2/gallon mark was passed by.

There is a gas station, not close to here to be useful to me, where you can buy gas in advance at a fixed cost.  Some wise buyers are using gas now that they paid $1.29 per gallon for a couple years ago.
But you do have to take the risk that the seller doesn't go out of business owing you a few hundred gallons of gas.  Not sure what'd happen then, plus the up front cost of purchasing a lot of gasoline.

Seems like the price of oil is driven more by speculation than reality, at least in the past few years.
