Coors was a really big deal back when it was "forbidden" in this area. Back in the early 1980's you could get if for $6 per six pack, which is about tripple of what a regular sixer sold for back then.
Then Coors was rolled out in this area, it sold like crazy for a few months, then people learned it wasn't all the much different from what was already available here.
I remember they introduced Stroh's here at about the same time, and I remember liking it better than Coors.

Yes, I remember that as well. Back in the early 80s it was available first in one county of KY. where I had a customer. I'd come back from there with a station wagon load. I never could stomach Stroh's.
