Satellite Internet

We live in the boonies and will likely never get DSL or Cable out here.

Dial up is SO slow.  Reading any posts on this forum with pictures takes forever.  (official forum relevance tie ;) )  

Anyone have any experience or knowledge of how well Satellite Internet works?

I believe it gives you fast downloads, but you still have to upload through a phone line.
