Swimming pool question Chris H?
Bonibelle:
Thanks, Chris, I think that must be the pieces of white rubber gasket like material that I found on the bottom of the pool. I guess I will have to wait until next year to empty the pool and pull the liner where it belongs. I think I am going to order the liner lock to be sure no more of the liner pops off that track. It looks like only small pieces were put in place every so often and maybe that is why it was able to pull away. :-/ Pools are a pain in the ass! By the way Chris, we miss you on here ;)
Vinny:
Be very careful about removing the water from your liner ... I have heard that the liner may give you problems as it's not as supple as when it was new.
You're going to wait until next YEAR?
My pool is 5 years old and the dealer talked me out of a hook on liner. He sold me an overlap and I haven't had any problems so far. My liner isn't as pretty as sme others but every so often I go on-line and look to see what's out there ... just in case. I think my wife would just demolish the pool if the liner went ... I'd be awefully upset since she wanted that thing in the first place!
Bonibelle:
Vinny, my pool is about 9 years old. I had some stumps taken out about 3 years ago and the debris from the grinder flew into my pool. That included shards of shale and large wood splinters...what a mess. I should have gone after the tree guy, but I cleaned the mess up and soon discovered that there was a substantial leak (or multiple leaks) as a result. I was forced to put in a new liner. My first liner was an overlap and I would have done that again except they have to take that entire top cap off (in addition to the pool fencing). It would be very expensive so the pool guy talked me into a beaded liner replacement. I think he did a lousy job though!
My husband (who flipped out when I got the pool) loves the pool but he knows nothing about it or how to take care of it ...just how to enjoy it. It doesn't worry him about the liner sagging, he just wants to swim...Maybe I worry too much but it looks like crap to me! I told him if the liner pulls away and falls into the pool, I personally will bulldoze "his" pool! I am getting sick of pools and ponds....I need to replace the liner in my fish pond this year too...to the tune of $360.00.. I think JUST the tub would be good...forget everything else water related! >:(
