Heavy Duty patio umbrella
« on: October 16, 2004, 08:13:20 am »
We currently have an 8*8' patio umbrella over our tub. Its adequate except for windy days.  At the Ohio State Fair this year a company was selling a 10' umbrella that was much sturdier and even had a low voltage light system with it and it could be locked into place so the wind wouldn't blow it.  The company had a website and I can't find the brochure. Anyone know who makes it?

This company supplies many of the 10' swing style umbrellas. I'm not sure about the lights but comb through it and see if this might be it.

Thanks Steve, those are the right idea, but most similar to what we saw is quite a bit more expensive.  Was hoping to spend under$500

Hi wmccall!  This might be a bit of work but it's an avenue to track down the vendor you're after.  Below is the link for the Ohio State Fair board.  There is a contact link.  I'm guessing a couple phone calls or emails and they should have a list of the registered vendors from '04.

Try this:

We have sold them for years - until HotSpring began offering a similar umbrella recently.

anything like this;

If you can't sell it on eBay, it may not even qualify as landfill.

Retired (mostly) from the industry after 33 years...but still putzing around with a consumer information website, and trying to sell obsolete owners manuals

Great idea, I'm sure that will work, I've written them before about a vendor who was less than honest and got great response from them

Well, we have one like that now, though the spa mount may not be bad. We currently have an 8' by 8' one and we want a 10 footer to cover our robe hanger and give us room to put our robes on outside the tub. Our current one also only has to knobs to tighten down that prevents the umbrella from turning. It is ineffective.

The vent flap on this one makes it one step above the one we have now, but it doesn't appear to have the same ability to lock it in place to prevent the top from rotating like the one we were looking at.
