haha, that totally hits home.  We started looking at hot tubs a little over a year ago and we were really green. I was originally budgeting $5k for a hot tub. That budget went completely out the window after I started reading threads on this site. So a little over a year ago we raised our budget to $12k and started saving up. Fast forward to today and that same $12k tub is now $16-$18k depending on what we wanted to get. I started a poll on here a while back asking what people thought the prices were going to do in the next year and pretty much unanimously everyone agreed that the prices were going to go up at least another 10% next year. This was also backed up by the local dealers we talked with. They all said their pricing is going up soon.

So long story short, we bit the bullet and ordered a BullFrog A8 about a month ago (at a price of 3-4 times what we originally planned for).  And now we're in the waiting game. We've been told it should be delivered sometime in Feb (2022). Here's hoping to no delays!

I also want to give a shout out to all the contributors on this site. All of your insight has been invaluable when trying to navigate the difficult hot tub landscape!  I know you were one of those people that helped out tremendously BullFrogSpasMN!  Thank you!

I started looking in early January and even then prices were starting to creep up and availability was scarce. I too had a $5000-$6000 budget. after reading here and getting much more realistic prices in my shopping, I ended up jumping on an Artesian at $9500 that was in the pipeline at the end of January and I'm glad I did. If I had waited even a few more weeks, the price would have been up another several hundred bucks and I would still be waiting for a tub.

It did have all the features I was looking for, with good parts and insulation.

Unfortunately, prices are not going to drop anytime soon. Parts shortages, trucking increases and unprecedented demand are not going away anytime soon.

So, set your pricing expectations accordingly and be prepared to wait. Or you can try to test your luck in the used market. However, you need to be able to move fast if you find a good used tub.

good choice, can't beat the layout on the R8/A8 it's my absolute favorite with the 'foot dome' in the center it allows someone who's 5'5" and 6'1" to both sit and soak comfortably without floating all over the place..what jetpaks did you go with?
