Clear gel forming around filter inlet?
« on: June 28, 2021, 01:20:24 pm »
Hi Everyone.

I just drained my tub, refilled, and balanced everything out like normal.

I make a habit of running my fingers around the filter inlet grill at the bottom of the tub to remove any large debris that gets trapped there.

Today I found a layer of what appeared to be completely clear gel on there! I was able to remove some of it, and it came off like a sheet. The rest seemed to get mushed up by me running my fingers over it and went through the grill, so is probably in the filter.

What on earth is it?! It was like jelly almost in texture and appearance.

Sounds like Biofilm.

Have you done an Ahh-some purge?

Thanks for the replies, I haven't flushed the tub at all. Is it likely to be biofilm if it's totally clear?

I thought it would at least have been milky coloured or something.
