Green musty water remedy

The level of free chlorine is so low that the margin of error is small. If your cartridge was out for a day or 2 and you used the hot tub, the water will likely turn. To clear it up add a healthy dose of chlorine, either dichlor or bleach.

This makes sense, during our hot tub "honey moon" phase, I'd say we used it TONS and I've noticed the chlorine levels low here and there, kids random toys floaties etc.
Would this be OK and at what frequency? I have a 375 gallon Caldera Vanto.

Sam:
Yep, that's good stuff. I would say add a tablespoon after any significant bather load incident and a couple tablespoons anytime the water looks a bit cloudy or smells. You may need to repeat the dose the following day or 2 if it doesn't clear up.

Great - will order ASAP. I assume this is not a replacement for the enhanced shock that came with my kit?
Sam:
Yeah, I would just use it as a supplemental sanitizer.
By the way, I've also heard good things about hot tub serum for this same situation.
