Twilight 8.25 very loud diverter valve
hobble23:
Hello, just got a new master twilight 8.25. I find the diverter valve for the master blasters and 2 back chairs quite loud. Is this expected? It really annoys me. The other valve is not loud at all.

Loud diverters are common. Plumbing engineering is expensive. Some companies don't spend as much money on it. Does it help to fully turn it one direction or the other? Not in between.

The sound changes in pitch when going from one to the other but the loudness is about the same. Anyone else with this tub notice this? I have a great dealer support but I like to avoid calling them and complaining if it's common among all the twilight 8 tubs.
BullFrogSpasMN:
common among brands using old school diveter knobs (typically the first thing to fail on a spa) you can attempt to remove the entire valve and 're-seat' it and ensure none of the O-Rings are pinched or damaged causing an air leak which is causing the noise

I have the same hot tub (which I flippin' love BTW) and some times the diverter valve that controls the big foot jets can be noisy.
I find that turning off the pump before turning the valve helps because you can turn it all the way easier with the pump off.
You should be turning off the pump anyway before turning the valve as it's hard on the valve when turning it with all that water flowing.
I actually broke my other diverter valve last winter forcing it with the pump on. It was one of the coldest days of winter when it happened so the plastic part cracked at that temp and with that force of water on it. Incidentally my dealer was out to my house fixing it under warranty early Saturday morning after being called Friday evening. Pretty impressive
