Buying used?
Hottubguy:
Depends on how it was maintained. If it was well taken care of then it should, have plenty of life left. Problem is you don’t know. At minimum you will need a cover in the next year or so. So figure $500-$600. Need someone to move it. So even at 4K it’s really going to be 5k. Have you seen it running? Does it seem like it’s been take. Care of fairly well? I’ve seen some 10 year old hot tubs that look brand new and some 1 year old hot tubs that look like they are 10 years old.

I just ran into a guy that I sold a Bullfrog to back when I was selling them... he has had it for 2.5 years, destroyed it with trichlor tablets. Looks like it has been in the field... beaten up for 10+. On the flip side, I just took in a Jacuzzi on trade (I did not sell it) about 8 years old... thing looks perfect other than the cover.

I am kinda thinking trying the used route to save some money on my first tub while I figure out what I like and if I will even use it as much as I think. I haven’t looked at the bullfrog yet but if it’s in good shape and everything works and they come down on price I might go that route.
Now I am a fairly handy person, I’m a farmer so there is a lot I do diy. With that said are bull frogs easy to work on? My main concern is getting to components, is it just remove a cover and the pump, electrical and all that is right there or is it cut away a lot of insulation involved?
Sam:
Bullfrog are super easy to work on. Everything is in the front equipment compartment. If it was well taken care of and in good shape I'd say $4k is a good price and I would definitely consider buying it at that.
