2 speed hot tub pump, Low speed works, Hi works for 2 seconds

2 speed hot tub pump, Low speed works, Hi works for 2 seconds, then hums for a second, then cuts out. 

I've had the tub for a couple months and the hi speed has always worked fine.  This morning it started doing what i described.  I'm semi knowledgeable about pumps and checked that the wire dedicated to the hi speed (and the one to low) isn't grounded out.  If it was a bearing issue or something, i don't think the low speed would work.  Any thoughts guys.  Thanks.
