Yes I’ve considered Aspen Spas (but they are not local)

And Bullfrog as well

(but the price for a tub similar to the Jetsetter NXT was around the same price)

If I was $8999 firm I'd certainly knock off something for cash, maybe not the 6% you're countering with but I think this is a good approach and why not ask for more than they might be willing to give because it might start a counter. Not all dealers react the same way/degree when you mention cash but its certainly better for them and a good negotiating tool.
