Outdoor fireplace
(1/1)
jcmsrv:
Does anyone have a outdoor fireplace with their hot tub?? Wood or gas??? We are thinking of installing fireplace within site of tub. I am thinking about wood burning fireplace on a slate or marble base just off of the deck, about 12 feet from house and about 15 feet from tub??? Any input???
thanks

I think it would be fantastic to have a setup like that!
I know that spahappy sells fireplaces. I would defer to her as the expert on that subject.
Good luck and post pics if and when you do it!

i know barbeques galore sells them as well. they do look nice in the showroom. the ones i have seen have stucco so it blends with the house.
IMO, a fire pit might look better being in the open.

My cousin lives at the beach and he said he just put one in near his spa. (it's a Calspa and I'm not sure if he is trying to set it on fire or not). The only thing is we are in a cold climate and I just wonder what the function would be? You wouldn't stand around it in wet bathing suits. It wouldn't really provide heat enough to warm you before you get in or out of the tub. Maybe it just looks cool? We have a brick fire pit in our woods and it is real nice in the summer when the pool is open. We have a hammock out there and tables and chairs and I even bake things in my dutch oven.

I've got a "chiminea" I picked up in Mexico last summer. 5' tall terra cotta. The pic below, though not anything like the nicer one I got, gives you an idea. I'v seen a lot being sold in this country in the one to two hundred dollar range.
