HotSprings filter door

I have a 2014 HotSprings Vanguard.   When all the jets are off and just the circulation pump is running shouldn't the sliding door that separates the filters from the main water area of the hot tub be just below the water line?  Mine is above the water line.

If you have enough flow (leakage around the weir door and from the footwell suction) It may be getting enough water to function properly. What is the recommended water level for your model? Any flow errors? Those pumps are likely the lowest energy consumption pumps on the market, and low flow. Reasonable longevity 6-10 years.

The recommended level is 1 1/2 inches higher than the highest jet.... which I do have.  I have no flow errors.

I would post a picture but for some reason I can't on here.

Post your photo at a hosting site (photo bucket for example) and copy it here.

If the circ jet has flow, the heater is working, and no errors. Your good. Float your ducky in the water by the weir see if there is suction flow, movement.

What does this door do?
Mine broke off about a year ago, so I have not used one since.

Nope!  It is a skimmer.  When the jets are off, it should be above the water to trap whatever debris was floating around in the spa.  It will only be below the water line if the jets are running.
