Marquis Spirit 160 GPM pump upgrade
Tomb:
I'm buying a new Marquis Spirit and I'm wondering if I should get the 160 GPM pump upgrade or is the 120 GPM pump just fine? Are most people happy with the standard pump?
MarKee:
Hey TomB, congrats the Spirit is an awesome tub! It kind of depends on your electrical situation. The standard Spirit model with the HP120 pump is convenient because you don't need to run 220v/240v wiring to it, and it can run on a standard 110v plug-in. But if running the wiring isn't going to be a huge issue and not too costly, I would definitely upgrade the pump to the MP160. You will get an extra 40 gallons per minute of water coming through the jets. Either way I think you will be happy with the tub, you just need to consider the cost of upgrading the pump and how much it will be to run the electrical out to your tub. One other advantage of running it on 220v/240v is that the water will heat about 3 times faster than running it on 110v.
Hottubguy:
+1 to what Markee said. The Spirit is a great tub!

Thanks very much for your help. We already had 220/240 ran and the dealer said they would upgrade for $100.00 so I did.
Tman122:
+2 It will also cost slightly more to run the bigger pump. Slightly noisier moving more water also. Some people are just GPM/HP people. Be nice if you could feel them both?
