Drewstar, the kids say it IS a spud launcher.
You ram the potatoes into the barrel and fill the back chamber with (of all things) hairspray. They have a gas grill sparking device to ignite the hairspray. I know that the terminator goes for all that high falootin high caliber gun stuff...but I doubt that they could do ballistics on mashed potatoes...so there you have it...the perfect weapon! Just gotta protect your potatoes from the rats.
